I’ve got nothing against buildings without historic merit being demolished, but it’s always kind of made me feel weird thinking about the fact that these places being knocked down have encompassed complete childhoods – like someone had grown up there, lived their childhood, and it’s going to be flattened to the ground.
I guess it’s not much different than my own childhood homes being renovated and moved into, but it’s such an odd thing, seeing windows covered in stickers where kids grew up being smashed by an excavator.
